Subject: Fantastic site, fabulous "help" page

Joe,
You have a fabulous and informative website. I laughed so hard at the e-mail messages asking for bomb-building tips I literally wept. Did any of them even read your other pages?
There is nothing more fascinating than homebrew science, whether it is a weather station for your backyard or exploding targets for a rifle range, and sites such as yours truly enrich the internet experience. It is neither commercial nor pornographic, demonstrates a prudent and legal approach to experimenting with potentially dangerous chemicals, and does not advocate using explosives in a malicious manner, be it toward man or beaver.
Documentation is the heart of science, and distribution is the joy of knowledge, but indiscriminately distributing knowledge of high explosives is simply asinine. Your manner of dealing with the closet pyros will hopefully lead to their choosing more constructive and positive forums in which to explore highly exothermic chemical reactions.

Subject: I'm pissed.....

My buddy sent me an email with a link to your website. He said that I might like it. I'm pissed at him, and you. I should be in bed right now. I have spent the past 2 1/2 hours checking out your website instead of reading my other emails and heading to bed. Thanks, the site is very informative and interesting, especially the link to the site containing the gory pictures. By the way, can you tell me hoe to build a bomb.........just kidding. Later Goose

Subject: Interesting Website

This afternoon, I was slouching around and watching TV. Some kid on a sitcom quipped that he figured out how to build a bomb after five minutes on the internet. Now, in the past I've read a few books that I had no business reading, and know how to do this sort of thing (though it's more amusing to tell the guys that you know how to build a bomb than to go and actually lose an appendage trying...). But this remark about building bombs got me thinking.

I had to wonder how long it would take me to find this information on the internet. For the record, it took twelve minutes as opposed to five. Twelve, five, it's still disturbing that I found a link at all. It's a sick, twisted internet out there, man.

Somewhere in that time, I stumbled onto this website:
http://boomershoot.com/general/BombHelp.htm

Interesting set of 'stories' you have there. But I have to wonder if there's a legitimate purpose. As you said, the page is up for a good laugh, not to mention getting people to stop spamming for bomb help.

But I have to ask-- are you making a political statement? Don't want kids blowing stuff up, or something? Just curious about this one.

Or blowing themselves up?

http://www.sonic.net/~brucel/explosivegraphics.html <--- Ouch. Nearly hurled up the pizza I just shelled out twenty bucks for. It's like a twisted little miniature rotten.com, only with no photoshoped portraits of nude celebrities. Damn you.

But seriously, what's the site for? Does it have a purpose? Is it just a good laugh at the peanut gallery of wannabe arsonists? Or are you trying to say something-- I have to ask on this one. I mean, I honestly don't see why you'd keep the page up, if this whole issue didn't somehow bother you. Thanks for bearing with me; now if you'll excuse me, I have some beavers to attend to.

I don't know the extent of your browsing on my web site was (https://www.boomershoot.com), but it should have been pretty clear had you looked around some that I know how to make explosives and do so on a regular basis for recreational purposes (including yesterday). So... what happens is that I (used to) get a lot of queries on how to make a bomb. Bombs are things that destroy people and property. Recreational explosives may make a crater in the ground but nothing was intentionally damaged (although my good friend accidentally blew the rear view mirror off of his jeep a few weeks ago). I don't want people without good judgment making bombs. The moral and legal uses of bombs are few and far between and I don't want to help anyone other than the US military make a bomb (which I might actually do in the not so distance future). But if someone can't form a complete sentence, appears to be deceptive, or appears about to engage in illegal acts I'm not going to help them. My 'Bomb Building Help' page on that site is to tell them I won't be helping them without having to actually delete their stupid email.

Does it make sense now?
